Is Exam Schedule A1 The Greatest Thing There Ever Was?

Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

The official list below outlines the time slots that are reserved - not exams that have been confirmed. Please confirm with your teacher whether or not the final exam for the course will be scheduled during this time.

Before you register, make sure to go over the Goethe exam guidelines and the terms and conditions on each exam page. Also, be sure to make sure you register at the correct exam level.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations where DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Check out the exam pages for more information on exam content, exam terms and conditions, and other guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to chronic disease, visual or hearing impairment or other limitations Contact the exam provider and provide the information when you register.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday includes the option of "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to find their exam schedules. Additionally the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for classes where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes, final exams are scheduled at the normal class time during the week of the exam.

Please be aware that this Projected University Examination Schedule should only be used as a reference. The dates for the final exam could change.

Registration

The exam schedule is available online and students are advised to review it. It is important to remember that the schedule for exams can be altered at any time. This is why students should check with their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also make certain to print the official list and bring it to their exams.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and terms and conditions. These are accessible on the individual exam pages. Students acknowledge that they have read and agree to the conditions and terms of registration.

Exam sites try their best to accommodate students with special needs. The nature and extent of these requirements should be stated on the registration form and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The locations for the exam must adhere to confidentiality.

If a student is scheduled to take three exams scheduled on the same day, it is recommended to contact their department or instructor to schedule an exam to make up. It is possible to have three examinations on the same day. However, this can cause a lot of stress and affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, the instructor may not be able to offer a makeup exam on another day.

Students must review the course material prior to taking the exam and practice their German skills.  Highly recommended Reading  is a paper test that tests your ability to read and write German. The results of the examination are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2.  Highly recommended Reading  who successfully pass the test receive a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has achieved the level of language A1. This level is the first stage of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free. Students must carry an ID that is valid for government purposes to the test. Anyone who does not have a valid photo ID will be disqualified.

Fees

If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you will need to pay the exam fee. This is in addition to the course fee.

Practice tests allow you to get an understanding of the style, wording, and difficulty of the questions on the test. They allow you to assess your proficiency, identify gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the exam.

Please note that the fee for exams is non-refundable. Exam results can only be electronically sent, not via phone.
